Guest Speaker: “ISO 9001: Let’s Dig In”
Presenter: Ben Bomstad, ATCC
A Quality Management System built on the ISO 9001 platform is a key ingredient for many successful manufacturers. The principles of ISO will improve your QMS whether you are a large production manufacturer or a small prototype machine shop. This QCI Network meeting will:
• Dig into the ISO 9001:2008 standard
• Review changes that took place from the 2000 to 2008 revision
• Examine the benefits and roadblocks of ISO implementation and
• Look at examples of how the standard can be implemented in a manufacturing company
• Allow time for interatcion among participants along with Q&A with the presenter

About the Presenter: Ben Bomstad is a Manufacturing Specialist with the Customized Training Center at Alexandria Technical & Community College where he provides business and industry partners with training solutions through the many resources at ATCC. Some of the training subjects delivered by Customized Training include, Lean Manufacturing, Quick Response Manufacturing, Robotics, CNC Set-up and Programming, GD&T, Blueprint Reading, Automation and OSHA Safety. Ben owned and operator an ISO registered prototype and short run CNC machine shop in Willmar for more than 10 years. In 2010, Ben accepted his current position with ATCC and sold the family owned machine shop.
