Minnesota Manufacturers Coalition
Tri-State Manufacturers' Association is a founding member of the
Minnesota Manufacturers' Coalition. Formed in April 2004, the Coalition
is a consortium of association leaders representing 26 entities from
across Minnesota who serve the needs of manufacturers
The
mission of the Minnesota Manufacturers' Coalition is to: "Serve as a
unified voice of manufacturers on issues that impact competitiveness and
raise the visibility of the importance of manufacturing to Minnesota's
economy."
One of the Coalition's top priorities pertains to Minnesota's practice
of rebating sales tax collected on the purchase of capital equipment.
Manufacturers are required to pay sales tax at the time of purchase, and
then request a rebate from the state. Several million dollars - some
reports suggest as much as $75 million - are left unclaimed by small and
medium sized manufacturers every year. The Coalition is managed by the
Minnesota Chamber of Commerce. Learn more at
